I've used this for IT Documentation in the past, and the Howto Wiki format would work well but then I'd have to teach those writing the documents how to use Wiki markup. MeidaWiki works well, if you know wiki markup.

However MKDocs seems to be setup to be used with a single product.ĭocpad seems to show some promise but I've been having a little trouble getting it setup the way I like and from what I can tell I'm going to have to do quite a bit of programming on my side (plus all the documentation and tutorials are written in coffee script and eco template engine.)Īny recommendations for suggestions are greatly appreciated. I've looked at a few options like MKDocs and DocPad and I like the Idea of using Markdown to format my documents as it makes it fairly easy to convert existing documentation written in word, keeps it fairly light weight and database free while building a quick static site. The type of documentation I'll have is pretty varied, It ranges from company fabrication processes to programming robotics to assembling 3rd party products for use in our fabrications.

I'm looking to build a documentation system for our employees to be able to use that will allow me to easily convert documents we already have written on a subject and help me keep everything in a clean, organized and readable format.
